On Saturday, July 12th the Whistler Water Team tackled Vancouver’s biggest music and arts festival of the summer, Khatsahlano Street Party! 10 city blocks were transformed into a full blown street party brimful with 300 merchants, vendors, food trucks, artisans, 50 bands, 8 stages and an extra special family zone.
With food of all ethnicities to Harrison Lee’s yo-yo performances, this annual street party made you want to stay and play all day. The Whistler Water crew sailed on to site with the mission to keep vendors, merchants, bands, volunteers and festival-goers alike well hydrated. With our nautical-themed tent, stylish bike, and Whistler Water Mist Machine, the team was prepped to replenish the 160,000 guests in attendance while reminding everyone about our biodegradable bottles and our awesome glacier fed water.
The Whistler Water Mist Machine appeared to be a very popular magnet; young, elderly, dogs and everything in-between lined up to be ‘mist’-ed by one of our lovely team members. This refreshing surprise was critical if you wanted to soak in the entire day’s festivities. What better way to spend one of the hottest days of the summer! Figure 8 knot, rolling hitch and other knot-tying skills were put to the test at the Water Bar where you could grab a cold bottle of Whistler Water, sit in our cool lounge (in both regards), and even get a temporary sailor’s tattoo.
Thank you to our neighbours, Lululemon, Ivivva and Nectar Juicery, for keeping the party lively! It is safe to say that we cannot wait until next year’s event.
