For the seventh consecutive year, Whistler Water received the Excellence in Manufacturing Award from the Canadian Bottled Water Association (CBWA).
“Canadian Bottled Water Association is proud of Whistler Water, receiving the CBWA Excellence in Manufacturing Award in 2017 for the seventh year in a row,” said Elizabeth Griswold, Executive Director of the CBWA. “All bottler members are required to meet CBWA standards, which includes passing an annual third-party inspection. To receive the Excellence in Manufacturing award, a bottling facility must score 97 percent with all critical areas in full compliance. We congratulate Whistler Water for a job well done!”
Members of the CBWA must undergo an annual, unannounced plant inspection by an independent, internationally recognized third-party organization. The inspections cover all areas of plant operations from source to finished product, and they ensure that CBWA members meet both the federal government’s and the association’s strict requirements for the production and sale of bottled water.
“Whistler Water is proud to have been awarded Excellence in Manufacturing by the CBWA for the 7th consecutive year,” said Bruce Gemmell, Whistler Water’s Chief Operating Officer. “ The CBWA audit and inspection criteria are becoming more strict year after year and this award is recognition of the fantastic work of our Quality Assurance and Operations team and a demonstration of our desire for constant improvement in our manufacturing processes.”
“Our team and facility not only meet the CBWA Excellence in Manufacturing standards, but strives to excel in all areas,” said Daniel Marcoux, Whistler Water Plant Manager. “Whistler Water is also a member of the International Bottled Water Association and our water is tested by the National Sanitation Foundation. We’re registered with the Food & Drug Administration, and meet all requirements of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Several of our employees are Lean Manufacturing Green Belt certified and we have implemented a 5S Health and Safety Program. I’m proud to manage a plant that continuously displays excellence in so many areas.”
