Sun, music, food, fun and the occasional flying bowline: Khatsahlano was the perfect way to spend a summer Saturday on July 13th. The annual music festival stretched along ten blocks with twelve stages hosting a range of local musicians including Pack A.D. and Brasstronaut.
Whistler Water amped up the summer vibe with a nautical-themed tent. Festival-goers channelled their inner sailor with beach-themed activities and tried their hand at knot-tying, with many conquering the classic figure eight and the complex flying bowline.
Others seeking an energy boost in between sets sat in shaded beach chairs, grabbed a bottle of cold Whistler Water and soaked in the festivities surrounding them. It was a refreshing experience and soon they were off to enjoy more of the local music or go grab some food at the trucks a block away.
Some people just wanted to show off their Khatsahlano experience. Taking advantage of the bluebird skies and Whistler Water’s life-preservers, they posted plenty of photos of the festival on Instagram. There was even a summer-themed prize involved for those who posted the shots with the tag #wwsummer and @WhistlerWater which you can check out on instagram and twitter.
With hundreds of people coming out to enjoy the sun, soak up the music and get knot-y, it was the perfect way to spend a day for festival-goers, Whistler Water and anyone else enjoying the Khatsahlano vibe.
